Logging on to the CS UNIX machine at OSU from a Lab on
campus
When you are using the Vi editor with a UNIX machine, you
usually must use the h, j, k, and l keys to move around in the document.
However, these instructions will allow you to use the arrow keys on your
keyboard instead.
- Click on Start
- Next, click on Host & Internet
- Choose LanWorkPlace Pro
- Click on 3270-IBM
- Next, in the Open New Session, pick the TN3270 COMSCI
option in Profiles
- Choose Terminal Type VT (VT52 ==> VT420)
- Choose Terminal Model VT 100 (See Figure 1)
- Next, choose the Connect button.
- You should now get to the sign in screen for the CS UNIX
machine.
- If you login this way, you can use the arrow keys in the vi
editor.
