REU Site in Computer Science

This program provides an environment for minority undergraduate students to experience research in applied and experimental computer science. The major components of the REU program are a summer research project and a one day mini-seminar during the academic year. Participants are given a well-defined research project and participate in continuing research projects. Participants have an opportunity to interact with faculty and graduate students. The REU projects allow the REU participants to be co-authors of journal and/or conference papers. The summer experience provides encouragement for the participants to continue their education into graduate school and to think about research careers. The program is highly selective, limited to a maximum of ten students annually.
